New public sector backed property venture opens for businessPlace Partnership - a commercial enterprise established by six Midlands based public sector shareholders and sponsored by the Cabinet Office - is open for business and is the first single asset management company of its kind in the UK.
Place Partnership is led by Andrew Pollard, a senior executive with 27 years real estate experience. Andrew is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England & Wales and a qualified Barrister and for almost 10 years has served as a director of a number of significant international real estate vehicles engaged in investment, regeneration and development.
Andrew commented: “I am delighted to have been entrusted with the leadership of Place Partnership which will provide its public sector partners with commercial solutions in maximising value from, and achieving significant operational efficiencies in relation to some 1,400 land and property assets initially. As well as delivering innovation and efficiencies in property management, energy use and facilities management, we will drive transformative service delivery across the public sector, promote regeneration and seek to attract word class business, boosting regional economic growth. I am looking forward to building the business on this exciting journey.”

The innovative new company, sponsored by the Cabinet Office as a development of the Government’s ‘One Public Estate programme’, will transform public sector asset management across Herefordshire, Shropshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire initially. It will establish smarter, more commercial ways of working and enhance the range of services provided to the public. Place Partnership is owned by six initial public sector shareholders – Hereford & Worcester Fire Authority, Redditch Borough Council, Warwickshire Police, West Mercia Police, Worcester City Council and Worcestershire County Council. It is anticipated that the partnership will be expanded in the future as synergies with other organisations are developed.
The services to be delivered by Place Partnership include strategic asset management, facilities management, property management, management of major outsourced services, energy management, and management of design and development work.
In his spare time, Andrew enjoys hill-walking, dinghy sailing and spending time with his wife and two children. The family has relocated to Worcestershire.
