One Public Estate benefits boost town

One of the first projects Place Partnership was engaged in, from inception through to practical completion, was Evesham Fire Station, which officially opened in March 2017. The former fire station site was part of a land swap with Wychavon District Council which was intended for development into a Waitrose Supermarket, with the land released by the move to the new Fire Station site intended to create significant employment in Evesham. The Fire Station itself is a facility to be proud of and has been a tremendous success.

It is pleasing to see the new Waitrose supermarket is now completed and it opened for business three weeks ago, creating just over 100 new jobs. The new store is trading really well and is a major boost for the town. The economic value created by the new Fire Station development has therefore been significant for the local economy and it's great that Place Partnership has been able to play a major part in the delivery of value for the local community.
